Sample Trimming Video

Just a friendly apologetic note about the video: I am not normally this "redneck" with chickens and all. Yikes. This is the only video I have at the moment and will shoot a better one when the weather warms up and I can set the camera up outside. It was -10 below zero when I shot this, I was frozen stiff and barely able to hold the rasp. My brain was in deep freeze, nose was dripping, and well....you get the picture.... Also was wearing thick lined Carharrts, and thus no trimming apron. In any case, it gives you a bit of an idea. The entire trim on the horse took 20 minutes. The video cuts off after 3 minutes (camera default.) The steps left to address were flare, and bevel.

A bit of history on the horse in the video - she used to be lame, even in shoes. She had crushed underrun heels, was laminitic, flared walls, thin soles, and sore on everything but grass. The farriers were always chasing bars and flares, and never arriving at any measure of success. I've been trimming her for 2 years now with the High Performance Trim method, and she is sound on any surface and only wears boots for very rocky trails. It wasn't due to anything "magical" but only good solid understanding on neurological foot function, and biomechanics.

Be patient with the video loading and buffering, it's a huge file and is slow. You may have to start it a couple of times.
